Acting Studio

It’s the age old question that all actors ask themselves at some point in their career: Northeast or Southwest, which direction do I go? But not all actors are ready to make that decision yet. At NESW Acting Studio, we know that when you’re starting out you have so many questions. If I want to do theatre do I need to move to New York? If I want to do film and television do I need to move to LA? What are the costs of living? Do I need a car? What kind of survival job should I get? Do I need an agent or a manager? And what’s the difference between them? What about unions? And headshots? And resumes? Maybe you’re a NY theatre actor who’s looking to break into NY television. Perhaps you’ve landed a co-star or two in LA but you’re itching to do some theatre. Or you could be in Chicago, Atlanta or Boston and wondering if you should move or not. The truth is there is plenty of film and television work in New York and there’s a ton of theatre work in Los Angeles. And while it’s also true that New York and Los Angeles have many things in common, there’s an entire continent separating them. If only there was a way to experience them both. NESW Acting Studio is the brainchild of LA-based acting coach Colleen Basis and New York-based actor Michael Hegarty. NESW offers classes in all areas of acting, from film and television to theatre to commercials. Our instructors will teach you the ins and outs of the NY and LA markets and provide you with the roadmap you need to reach or destination.
